Product Description

A bakery box earns its keep twice: it has to protect the product and make it look worth buying. These bakery boxes are built from food-grade paperboard with a PE or PLA lining, so buttercream, ganache, and fried dough do not wick into the wall and leave a mark before the box is opened. A removable insert tray turns a plain cupcake box base into a grid of cavities that holds each item upright, and lifts out cleanly when you want the full base for a single cake. Whether you pack cupcakes for a party order or cookie boxes for a gifting season, sizes, tray layouts, and print are all made to order.

Food-Grade Board and Grease Resistance

The wall is where most bakery packaging fails. This board is food-grade paper with a PE or PLA lining, and that lining is the barrier stopping butter and oil from soaking into the fibre, which is what turns a box soft and translucent by the end of a delivery run. Board weight is specified to the load: a lighter sheet suits pastries and cookies, a heavier one carries a filled cake without the base bowing outward under the weight of a two-tier build. For donut boxes holding fried, glazed product that releases oil as it cools, the heavier grade with a full lining is the sensible specification.

Removable Insert Tray and Divider Layouts

One box, two configurations. Seated in the base, the insert tray divides the footprint into cavities, and that grid is what stops frosting smearing against the next item in transit. Lift the tray out and the same box takes a single round or square cake on a flat base. These are cupcake boxes with inserts rather than a fixed moulded shell, so the tray is a separate die-cut piece: it can be swapped at packing time, replaced if damaged, and reused across sizes. Cavity counts follow the box dimensions, from a short row up to a full dozen, and dividers run either as a grid or as parallel walls.

Custom Printing and Brand Building

Print sits on the lid and all four sides, which is where a customer's eye lands before the box is opened. Full CMYK or PMS printing holds logo colours steady across reorders, and an unprinted kraft or white finish is available when a quieter look suits the brand better. The matte outer surface takes fine type cleanly, so ingredient lists, allergen notes, and storage guidance stay readable at small sizes, even on a narrow side panel. Running one artwork across cookie boxes and cake formats builds recognition quickly, and a matched set of sizes reads as a considered range instead of one-off packaging.

Free Samples, MOQ, and Lead Times

Complimentary in-stock samples let you seat the tray, test a real load, and check the print and board weight before committing to a full run. The minimum order is 10,000 pieces, a volume that fits bakery chains, patisseries, and distributors replenishing on a cycle. Standard production runs 15–25 working days after artwork approval, a predictable schedule for seasonal launches such as Valentine's, Mother's Day, and the winter holidays. Board weight, lining, tray layout, and print are confirmed and signed off up front. For bakery boxes bought at volume, that early sign-off is what keeps every reorder identical to the approved sample.

Product FAQs

Q1: How does the insert tray keep cupcakes upright in transit?

The tray converts the box base into a grid of shallow wells, and each well holds one item in a fixed position, so cupcakes cannot slide into each other when the box is tilted, stacked, or carried one-handed. Because the tray is die-cut from board rather than moulded, the cavity walls can be specified to the base diameter of your product — a loose well lets the item rock, an over-tight one damages the frosting on the way in. Tell us the base diameter and the frosting height, and the tray is cut to leave a small clearance on both.

Q2: Can I remove the tray and pack a whole cake instead?

Yes, and that flexibility is the practical reason to specify a removable tray rather than a glued insert. With the tray lifted out, the base is a clean flat surface that takes a single round or square cake, so one box size serves both your cupcake line and your celebration-cake line without buying two SKUs. The tray simply lifts by its edge and can be reused, replaced, or left out entirely at packing time. Depth is specified against your tallest product so the lid never presses down on decoration.

Q3: Is the board grease-proof enough for buttercream and fried pastries?

It is grease-resistant rather than liquid-tight, which is the right level for bakery use. The PE or PLA lining blocks butter, cream, and frying oil from soaking into the paper during a normal sales or delivery cycle, so the outside of the box stays clean and the board stays rigid. It suits buttercream, ganache, glazed donuts, and pastries, but not a loose sauce or a leaking fruit filling — those need a barrier container instead. For very rich or long-held product, a heavier board and lining add margin at modest cost.

Q4: How do I choose the box size, cavity count, and divider layout?

Start from what you sell most and work outward. Measure the widest item, add clearance for frosting and for the tray wall, then decide the layout: a single row for pastries, a grid for cupcakes, parallel walls for sliced cakes, or no tray at all for whole cakes. Cavity count follows the footprint, so a larger base simply takes more cells rather than a different tray design. Height matters as much as width, since the lid has to clear the tallest decoration. Send us the item dimensions and pack count, and we will propose a size and layout.
